Art Unbouded
Hugo Affolter / Eugène Ionesco / Paul Stamm / Alfons K. Zwicker
30 August – 13 November 2016
Opening: 29 August, 18:30
Many artists have a broad understanding of art independent of their profession in theater, music, or literature. Some of them express themselves in a variety of media. But only few do so publicly. Unlike most outsider artists, they are part of a cultural discourse. Nonetheless, they remain «outsiders» to the visual arts. The Museum im Lagerhaus sees itself as not only responsible for a «traditional» Art Brut or Naive Art, but also for the boundary regions between genres. The exhibition «Art Unbounded» is dedicated to works of visual art from various artists in music, theater, literature, and architecture: Hugo Affolter (1937–2013, actor, dramaturge), Eugene Ionesco (1909–1994, author), Paul Stamm (1904–2000, architect), and Alfons K. Zwicker (*1952, composer).
